The company has taken an active role in disaster relief across the country, and in 2005 sent approximately 630,000 pounds of food for hurricane Katrina relief.. Since 1995, Faribault Foods has donated more than 1,900,000 pounds of food to Channel One, which provides food assistance to over 40,000 people in Southeast Minnesota and in Western Wisconsin. The Chamber selected Faribault Foods because of its contributions to the city’s economic vitality for over 100 years.The Minnesota Grocers Association (MGA) recognized the Silver Plate Award winners of its 2011 Minnesota’s Own display contest, part of a larger campaign that informed Minnesotans about local hunger and provided over 5.8 million meals to Minnesota families through food drives and donations. The MGA is a state trade association with more than 200 retail members operating nearly 1,200 stores statewide, as well as 120 manufacturers and distributors.
